Pastry Chef Samantha Hawk was born in Garland, TX and grew up in Gunter, TX. Hawk’s first pastry job was a cake decorator and baker at a grocery store, she then went on to prep all the desserts while working as a a line cook at Del Frisco’s Grille and Whiskey Cake.
Hawk credits her parents for her mentorship, she says “Both my parents definitely shaped who I am and how I see the world”. Hawk ended up working in the restaurant industry by chance. She says “I like to take classic or traditional dishes and making them modern”.
According to Hawk “I don’t want to be anything else. I have always known that I would be a pastry chef or at least working with pastries since I was 9 years old. My favorite thing about being a pastry chef is trying new sweets and testing out recipes.”
Hawk’s favorite dessert is key lime pie and she lives in Dallas, Texas.
