Executive Sous Chef
Nelson Alvarez is the Sous Chef at Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse in Boston, MA. Alvarez was born in Medellin, Colombia and upon coming to the United States he knew he wanted to start a career doing something that he had no experience in. He loved the idea of cooking and decided that a career in the kitchen was the right fit for him.
Alvarez’s favorite aspect of being a chef is being given the opportunity to put a bit of imagination into his dishes. He loves learning about new styles of food that he has not yet tried cooking. He describes his cooking style as being, “passionate and fun.”
When not working, he can be found watching football with his son, Anthuan.
