Donald Laing

General Manager

Donald Laing was born in Winchester, Virginia and raised in Inwood, West Virginia. His journey in hospitality began as a host at Bob Evans. With a degree in Business Administration and over two decades of hands-on experience in the restaurant industry, Donald has held leadership roles at major brands including Ruby Tuesday and Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant, where he served as General Manager.

Laing’s most influential role model is his mother, who taught him the true meaning of hospitality and the importance of offering grace and help without being asked. That early lesson has defined his approach to leadership and service.

Laing has been known for his problem-solving abilities, team-building strengths and exceptional organizational skills. His management style is rooted in adaptability, a guest-centric mindset and a commitment to personal and professional growth. He believes that hospitality is all about creating memorable experiences—and that mindset has shaped the way he leads and develops his teams every day. His leadership philosophy centers on one core belief: It’s always all about the guest. He understands that without the guest, the experience (and the business) doesn’t exist. His favorite part of being a General Manager is the high level of influence he has in shaping team culture, mentoring people and solving challenges on the fly. One of his most memorable moments in hospitality? Meeting the love of his life while doing what he does best—serving others.

Outside of work, Laing is an avid fisherman and kayaker. He also has a deep appreciation for horology and enjoys watch collecting and repair—a hobby that reflects his eye for precision and craftsmanship. He lives in Ranson, West Virginia with his wife, Maria, their two children and two golden doodles, Chester and Lilo.
